The scene of the conference

On May 16th, the annual launch conference of the China Postgraduate Innovation and Practice Series Competition and the China Postgraduate Innovation and Practice Achievements Exchange Conference (2025 Nanjing) were successfully held. Li Jiangtao, the deputy secretary of the Party Committee of the university, led a team to participate in the event.

The conference announced the strategic partners of the 2025 China Postgraduate Innovation and Practice Series Competition, illuminated the city map where the host units of each theme event are located, and held a solemn launching ceremony. Yang Wei, president of the China Association of Postgraduate Education and an academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, presented flags to the 20 event organizers. Li Jiangtao, on behalf of the school, solemnly received the flag of the "22nd China Postgraduate Mathematical Contest in Modeling".

This event, as the annual grand ceremony of the 2025 China Postgraduate Innovation and Practice Series Competition, is guided by the Department of Degree Management and Postgraduate Education of the Ministry of Education, the Department of Education of Jiangsu Province, and the Talent Work Leading Group of the CPC Nanjing Municipal Committee, and jointly organized by the China Association of Degree and Graduate Education and the National University Regional Technology Transfer and Transformation Center (Jiangsu). It is jointly organized by Southeast University and the Management Committee of Nanjing Jiangning Technological Development Zone. Academician Yang Wei, President of the China Association of Postgraduate Education, Academician Zhao Qinping, former vice minister of the Ministry of Education and chairperson of the Competition's advisory committee, Academician Wang Shuxin, President of Chongqing University, Academician Yang Yongping, President of Lanzhou University, Academician Zuo Wei, Secretary of the Party Committee of Southeast University, Academician Liu Jiaping, Chief Professor of Southeast University, and Academician Tong Xiaohua, Vice President of Tongji University, Luan Zongtao, deputy director of the Department of Academic Degrees and Graduate Education of the Ministry of Education, and others attended the event. More than 600 people, including representatives from government agencies across the country, university leaders, teachers and students, representatives from industries and enterprises cooperating with the series of competitions, and media representatives, participated in the event.

As the host of the 22nd China Postgraduate Mathematical Contest in Modeling, China University of Mining and Technology will take this launch conference as an opportunity to fully prepare for the competition, give full play to the university's advantages in mathematical modeling education, carefully organize the competition links, and provide a fair, just, open and innovative competitive platform for the participating postgraduate students. Promote the Chinese Postgraduate Mathematical Contest in Modeling to a new height. Since the beginning of this year, the School of Mathematics, in collaboration with the Graduate School, has successively conducted research visits to Southeast University and Shandong University to learn from their experiences in organizing competitions. We took the lead in formulating the implementation plan for hosting the competition, successfully held the first executive committee meeting, organized and coordinated the school's experts to set the questions, set up a competition hotline to provide 24-hour Q&A, and carried out the selection, training and cultivation of modeling stars for the school's participating teams. In addition, the School of Mathematics, in collaboration with the Office of International Cooperation and Development, actively connected with the Talent Office of Xuzhou Municipal Committee and relevant alumni enterprises, seeking financial support to ensure the smooth and orderly progress of the competition.
