Statistics major
Three basic elective courses are required. Among them, the course "Matrix Computing (Bilingual)" (fourth semester) is a prerequisite for the core professional courses "Data Mining" (fifth semester) and "Statistical Computing" (sixth semester). It is recommended that students choose this course. "Applied Stochastic Processes" (fifth semester) is a prerequisite course for the professional elective course "Time Series Analysis" (sixth semester). When choosing this course, you need to take it into consideration.
(2) For the remaining elective courses of the major, everyone can choose them according to their own interests and course arrangements.
2. Mathematics and Applied Mathematics
The core professional courses are divided into three course groups, and each student should choose at least one group.
(2) Some courses in the professional elective courses require that the courses in the professional core courses be prerequisite courses or have a significant connection with the professional core courses. The explanations are as follows:
"Multivariate Statistical Analysis" is closely related to some courses in the "Financial Mathematics Group".
The prerequisite course for "Data Mining" (Semester 5) and "Statistical Computing" (Semester 6) is "Matrix Computing (Bilingual)" in the "Scientific Computing and Optimization Group".
"Matrix Analysis", "Numerical Algebra", "Theory and Application of Interval Mathematics", "Numerical Solutions of Differential Equations", "Data Mining", "Statistical Computing", and "Algorithm Design and Analysis" all fall under the category of computation-related courses, and thus are closely related to the courses in the "Scientific Computing and Optimization Course Group".
"Simulink Control System Simulation", "Artificial Intelligence Control", and "Modern Control Theory" are all control-related courses, and thus have more connections with the courses in the "Control and Application Group".
3. For students who are preparing to apply for postgraduate studies in various mathematics-related majors, the following basic elective courses and specialized elective courses may be of great help to your future studies.
